After a bit of cheating (clipping from sketchbooks), all of the circles are finally filled. It's a bit... all over the place so maybe some ink sprays will tone down all of the different colours? It's a bit distracting.
I was on a ROLL last night and covered quite a bit of good ground. What happened is I found a discman and a cd I haven't picked up for at least a year or more (ok don't laugh, it was the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack). I'm so determined to finish this painting before January ends so that I can at least reveal it in the monthly newsletter.
That time you spend an hour and a half on something, then look back and feel like you've accomplished almost nothing. So many circles left.
In the last journal video I was using scrap pages from a notebook I use to clean off stencils. They are also fantastic for finishing the edges! It's challenging to draw a circle around a corner and then paint sideways. This is better.
Every creative person needs a creative friend. Creative friends understand why it's fun to just stay in most nights. Instead of looking bored, creative friends get excited with you at the local arts and craft store. Creative friends share their artsy toys and offer fun ideas if you happen to have none.
I don't have nearly enough playdates! How about you?
I'm very slowly adding circles to this big wooden panel. Here's a cross stitched one! It will probably be the only stitched one since it takes so much longer than painting, and it kept fraying when I got close to the edges. It's sealed under gel medium now, so those bits aren't moving anywhere ever again :3
Maybe you recognize this one? It's a page from one of my recent sketchbooks, a charcoal drawing of some beads. I loved this drawing and when I stuck it down, I did feel a little pang of regret.
