During the low-energy swings, all I wanna do is sleep. Not even just really sleep (though I do have sleep issues :P), but rather just to shut down. Take one of those late-spring naps in a beam of sun. Or if it's really bad, lay down on the sidewalk like in one of those Radiohead music videos. Or listen to Matthew Good's "Fated" on repeat.
Well, no. Nothing's on repeat.
This painting process had a pretty good flow. Looking at it is pretty peaceful when you're not quite feeling "real", you know?
It's available for purchase here.
Now that Piece of Mind show has come and gone, "In the Weeds" is now up for grabs in the shop! I'm glad to finally open this one up to a greater audience, as it is one of the most time-consuming paintings I've done for a long while. Maybe forever. But it was time well spent, and I think it shows.
In other news, I caught wind of this article suggesting that Opah is the first warm-blooded fish that we know of, and I was delighted to learn that Opah is a type of sunfish! I've been keen on sunfish for a little while now, and look at how HANDSOME this one is! Opah week?
I've got good feelings about the balcony garden this year! This card is available in the shop.
When years of brutal winds and cold strip your bark and leave you with smooth scars that dry up in the sun, do you relent or do you continue?
Even more paintings are going up in the online shop this week. Get a good look at 'em here.
Now that my mind is momentarily *back* and I've been making some choices and getting organized, I've put 3 new paintings into the shop! Click the image above to check them out!
Last month was SUPER rough, and despite how bitter I suddenly feel about it, there is still some novelty in turning 30 tomorrow. I can't help but feel a slight tinge of positive energy, even though I know it won't be a "good" day. I'm still painting, albeit slowly.
