I love love love the yellow colour that came out in the end. Forgot to mention that. I was mixing a cheapy craft paint with the Liquitex Basics brand of white paint. While the Basics line is a student quality, it's still miles ahead of craft paint, and I could not believe how opaque and velvety this was. Just a little bit stretched so far, that I had enough paint leftover to completely cover an entire spread elsewhere in the sketchbook. It was not wasted! I almost want to paint the entire sketchbook in this colour! I HAVE GONE COMPLETELY MAD WITH POWER.
I am not recording the mentioned 8x8 version of this opah painting I'm talking about, mostly because it's redundant having recorded the wee sketchbook version of it. I am taking photos of it in stages for the newsletter, because sometimes I wonder if that's the kind of thing that goes over better in the newsletter. I pretty much never get any feedback about the newsletter and I'm seriously considering retiring it entirely, since it always seems to be this last minute thing that perhaps no one even enjoys. I have no idea. It's gone to the void. Youtube is better. Youtube is responsive and alive. I think "oh I should save this brill idea for the newsletter" but change my mind because I want more people to see it.
So yeah. I don't know. They say that newsletters are the most important thing in the world, the most personal, the most useful. Maybe that's no longer true. How many people actually write each other using email anymore? I'd suggest letting me know in the comments, if I thought blogs were still a thing anymore.
