I'm starting to feel like I'm always rushing just to keep up with my own imposed schedule so I did a bunch of small gouache studies in the sketchbook and filmed each of them. I don't like all of them, but its nice to walk away with a couple of options. I often find myself thinking "Oh, it's video day tomorrow? And I've done nothing?"
Yesterday is a total blur! I'm trying not to get too excited, but I MAY have finally gotten approval for a couple of weeks of unpaid vacation this spring and if it's true I get to be TOTES EXCITED!
I may not have taken time off in three years.
Usually, and this is no exception, I end up going it alone to visit my family. So it's nothing too exotic. I've never seen tropical islands, or arctic circles or foreign cultures. I haven't even been to the states. But it seems like I may get to go to Alberta. So. Um. Yay! Cautious yay!
I've wanted an Oxalis for quite a while but I always hesitated because I don't always have room but mostly because it's just another toxic plant I don't want my cats to eat.
I spotted this one, I guess because it's about St Patrick's day now, and it was just too precious to pass up. I haven't had a single issue with Milo eating my plants since he's become obsessed with cat grass, so I'm not really worried anymore.
Hello! I'm Melissa, and here you'll find some behind-the-scenes footage of an artful life. Won't you join me?
