A few months ago, Michaels had a sale on sketchbooks in an array of different pastel colours. After getting a blue sketchbook for a friend, I ended up grabbing a grey one for myself in the end. It's been on my shelf for three months while I finish up my current "Renew" journal. It's intimidating in its size! It's not large, but I haven't done "normal" sketchbooks for several years! It's full of drawing paper... see how it wrinkles!
But it keeps details well, I guess because this paper also has no texture to it. This would definitely be a multi-year sketchbook, though! How long would I stick with it? Start your bets.
Some of my container plants survived the mild winter and are having an exciting 2nd year! Case in point, the Juncus is looking pretty wild. Here's Juncus last year in 2014:
Here is the very same Juncus today, in 2015:
Aaaaaahhhh! The wackiness! Also I hope that succulent is going to survive his flowering. Also, the sedum keeps dropping random pieces of himself and now nearly every flowerbox has a piece of sedum trying to root. On a scale of 1-10, how bad of an idea was that? Next year, it will probably be nothing but sedum. Only sedum.
