My calamondin tree grew so much stronger this year that he may finally be able to hold tree decorations :3
Of course, you can't get much more lightweight than paper! Even the youngest shoots can hold one of these little polyhedron paper ornaments. Using the templates from this site, I shrunk the templates and traced them onto watercolour paper. Perhaps it's because I used such sturdy paper, but this project would definitely be more fun with one of those newfangled cutting machines... because cutting and gluing these was not a quick and easy adventure. :/
Spraying them with ink wasn't particularly attractive and neither was painting. I wanted some sparkle so I glittered a couple of them. The glitter makes the icosahedron (left) look like a shapeless blob so maybe I'll try alternating panels or keep them white? Either way, there is glitter absolutely everywhere on my desk and I think it's permanent :P
