Now I'm just trying to power through the rest of the Song sketchbook/journal. I love filling up the pages with plant studies that would bring joy to look back upon. This week I've been taking close up photos of my plants, placing coloured papers behind them to try to get an interesting background colour.
You can kind of get a peek of a succulent drawing below the coprosma, which was done with pencil crayon. I don't often use pencil crayons, partially because it puts more pressure on my finger pads, but very much because I never wanted to pull out the box to get a colour or two. I'm in the middle of rearranging my supply stash, so now my pencil crayons are always at easy reach. Perhaps I will take them up again? Especially considering the paper I've been dealing with in this sketchbook.
Hello! I'm Melissa, and here you'll find some behind-the-scenes footage of an artful life. Won't you join me?
