For the past few months I'd been given individual days off during the week, instead of weekends. It's not terrible, but it's not super restful either. I had small plans for my wednesdays, and nearly all of them fall through, as by then I am usually tired. Tired of moving around? Tired of being alone? Tired of life? I don't know.
I was up late being violently sick for no good reason. And so I pretty much spent the entire day trying to work out a painful knot on my shoulder! It didn't help at all, but I did end up spending a couple of hours on the balcony, trying to paint my blooming sempervium. Such perfect, cool weather yesterday. The balcony is so peaceful now that the bicycles have been replaced with plants. I suppose I have the Bike Thief to thank for that one.
Sweet Maggie just loves sitting outside, watching the birds. She'll be out there quite late at night, blending perfectly in the shadows, almost as if she WANTS me to accidentally lock her out there. Even Milo visited with us on the balcony for quite some time; I think he just feels unsafe when he's outside alone. He is turning into quite the hermit. That's my cat, all right!
Hello! I'm Melissa, and here you'll find some behind-the-scenes footage of an artful life. Won't you join me?
