Last week, the topic came up that I haven't uploaded journal videos lately. Here's the thing about that. I haven't been doing the typical "art journaling" lately. I haven't been doing much at all lately. My weeks have become unpredictably short or long, with seemingly random days off during which I don't feel like doing anything because I'm usually here alone. With the cats. And the rain. And the darkness, both literal and figurative. Yeah, I know, it's getting old.
But hey, here's a fun thing: filling the sketchbook with stylistic specimens. I've been picking a "theme" and filling the circles with the shapes that appeal to me. It's also a good opportunity for me to listen to podcasts on youtube that I would otherwise not want to sit down and watch. Every new specimen brings me closer to becoming a pokemon master. You know, of plant illustrations.
So back to videos - I don't know. I'm not sure I would want to film something like this, and I'm sure that's not what you desire to see. I'd like to start off with some specimen ACEOs like this. At the moment, ACEO videos are favourable because often the cards sell afterward, which is why I keep doing them. I do occasionally itch badly to make a serious art journal page, and what I can do is promise to film it when that happens. So far, the inspiration has been extremely rare.
