Our pets aren't going to be around forever, so I like to paint them living their best life. I got to give Milo a tall vine to climb (he loves to be up in high spots). Jester spends his day watching through a window, so I painted him the biggest most beautiful window I could imagine. I gave Lando (a hedgehog) a cute teacup house in a woodland. The more imaginative and fantastic, the better! When our animal friends ultimately leave us, we can continue to "visit" them in the fun spaces we imagined for them.
I use high quality (Qor) watercolour. After working out the details, the painting process shouldn't take me longer than a week. I usually sell these paintings unframed, as it is safer and less expensive to ship this way. A "sketch" would be similar to the budgie graphite sketch, with or without the metallic pattern in the background. It's up to you!
These make incredible and thoughtful gifts, by the way.
"We talked about the local birds, and she was SO quick with mock ups for me! I had a few special requests, such as painting on the mat, and she took it beyond what I was hoping for. (...) Her communication was fantastic, and she absolutely exceeded my hopes for this. " - Jenna
